Healing is not becoming the best version of yourself

Healing is not becoming the best version of yourself

Healing is not becoming the best version of yourself…healing is letting the worst version of yourself be loved.

Can I have the privilege of being a part of YOUR journey, of learning to let the worst version of yourself be loved?

This has been the work of my life since September 2018: healing.

Not only letting other people love the worst versions of myself, but allowing MYSELF to love the worst versions of me.

Also allowing myself to love versions of my physical body that feel foreign, as my physical body has changed drastically over the years.

This is a huge part of working with me, whether thru photography or 1:1 sessions: space to talk through & explore the various lies we’ve been believing about ourselves.

I provide a safe space for my clients, all my clients.

Yesterday I had a headshot session with a therapist who said she hasn’t updated her headshot in 8 years because she hates photos. She’s uncomfortable in her body. She shared with me how incredibly nervous she was for our very short, quick session.

I told her, “I got you: I see you for you, I see your beautiful heart, & we will ensure it shines through your eyes in your headshot. Don’t let societal BS tell you you’re not worth capturing in a photo.”

Thru the session I got her to laugh. I showed her the back of the camera so she can let me know if she was liking them or not, if we needed to adjust.

Afterwards she said “Wow. I’ve never experienced such a smooth, nerve-free session. Thank you. That was easy.”

This may seem small & insignificant. But thru the short 15 minutes we spent together, this woman went from hating herself & feeling so uncomfortable to feeling seen & relaxed, & leaving the studio saying she ENJOYED being photographed.

Another client I’ve been working with 1:1 over zoom entered our first mtng saying she knew she needed to leave her spouse but didn’t feel she was worth PEACE.

We are 4 sessions deep & she’s since left that abusive partnership, began doing the work of seeing the truth of herself, & is beginning to believe that even in her worst moments she deserves love: not abuse.

We can do this, friends.

You are so worth loving.
